We have done this before. One New York practice, about 20 employees, runs a custom Windows AI workstation we built. Its local models summarize charts and notes before visits. The work is administrative and documentation help, not clinical decision-making. The physician still reads the chart; the summary shows where to look first.

How your data stays private
Built to support your HIPAA obligations: patient data is processed on hardware you own, nothing is sent to ModelSide or any cloud, and we sign a Business Associate Agreement. The models run on the workstation in your practice. A chart summary is produced by the machine that already holds the chart. The BAA is signed before any patient data is in front of us, with an NDA as well if you want one. The BAA covers ModelSide's obligations as your vendor. Your own policies, training and access rules stay yours. We help you write the one line that tells staff which assistant to use. Questions we hear
Does ChatGPT sign a BAA?
Whether a ChatGPT plan is covered by a Business Associate Agreement depends on the plan and its current terms, so check before any patient information goes in. Even with a BAA, patient data leaves your office and you remain responsible for it. On a workstation you own, the data never leaves, and we sign a BAA for the work we do.
Is this a clinical tool?
No. Everything we build for medical practices is administrative and documentation help: summaries, paperwork, search and intake. It does not diagnose, recommend treatment or make decisions. A clinician reviews every summary and every draft.
Does it work with our EHR?
Most first projects run on the exports and folders your EHR can already produce: PDFs, scans, spreadsheets and email. A live connection, when it is worth building, is written into the scope.
